In the first quarterfinal game, he faced off against Cathy Lanctot and Mehrun Etebari. Throughout the first two rounds, he came up with 21/23 correct responses (including 1/2 Daily Doubles). Nobody got Final correct, but Chris advanced to the semifinals. Mehrun and Cathy received $5,000 and the Jeopardy! DVD Home Game System as their scores, $700 and $4,400, respectively, were not enough to advance as wildcards.
In the first semifinal match, he faced off against Doug Hicton and Susan Mitchell. Throughout the first two rounds, he came up with 11/12 correct responses (including 1/1 Daily Double). Nobody got Final correct, but after losing to Doug (in a come from behind win), he and Susan received $10,000.
