Tournament of Champions[]

In the fifth quarterfinal match, he faced Cliff Galiher and Andrew Rostan. Throughout the first two rounds, he came up with 11/15 correct responses (including 1/2 Daily Doubles). He was the only player correct in Final, and after a come from behind win, he became the last automatic semifinalist. Cliff's $11,400 was enough to advance as wildcard as Andrew's $3,400 was not enough to advance, giving him $5,000 + the Jeopardy! DVD Home Game System.

In the first semifinal match, he faced Susan Mitchell and Chris Mazurek. Throughout the first two rounds, he came up with 21/28 correct responses. Nobody got final correct. After another come from behind win, Doug advanced to the finals. Susan and Chris received $10,000 and tthe Jeopardy! DVD Home Game System.

In the finals, he faced Cliff Galiher and Celeste DiNucci. Throughout the finals, he came up with 43/47 correct responses (including 1/1 Daily Double). He got both Final Jeopardy incorrect and won $100,000 + the Jeopardy! DVD Home Game System for first runner-up.
