Jonathan Fisher is an actor originally from Coral Gables, Florida.
Jeopardy! Run[]
Regular Play[]
He made his Jeopardy! debut on October 11, 2021, and did what most fans considered impossible by defeating 38-time champion Matt Amodio. After defeating him, Jonathan went on to win 10 more games, netting $246,100 in the process. He achieved the records of highest-winning and longest streaking giant killer (term given to contestants who defeat ultrachampions, or people who have won 10 or more games), taking both records away from Emma Boettcher (3 games and $98,002 after defeating 32-time champion James Holzhauer). Jonathan’s run also made history in a different way - Matt and Jonathan are the only back-to-back superchampions in Jeopardy history.

Common with Other Champions[]
Ken Jennings[]
- Their giant killers' first name is Nancy (Ken's giant killer is Nancy Zerg, and Jonathan's giant killer is Nancy Donehower). When they left, both giant killers got off the next day to an opponents' runaway game.
Emma Boettcher[]
- They beat the former millionaire to become the new champion and became the first person in the gender to be a giant killer to win consecutively.
- Both of them made their way to ToC, giving way to the male champion.
Matt Amodio[]
- Both held first place when they reached the championship, doubled the prize money in FJ and won.
- They didn't miss first place until they both got off.
- Both met the 4-time champion in the ToC where they both lost. This also applies to Ryan Long.
Amy Schneider[]
- Both beat champions with five or more wins in a row.
- The title was handed over to a challenger of the opposite sex, and both ended in a single win.
- Both of them competed against the same person (Andrew He) in ToC.
- Both their giant killers made it to the Champions Wildcard Tournament and finished as a quarterfinalist.
Ryan Long[]
- One of the long-term dynasties, Jonathan has won 10 or more consecutive championships against 10+ champions, and Ryan has 6 consecutive wins over 2 successive champions.
- They activity is associated with a specific number, Jonathan with 11 and Ryan with 6.
- Jonathan became champion on October 11, 2021, winning 11 in a row, and this is his 11th SuperChamp. The broadcast date of defeat in ToC is November 1, 2022.
- Ryan's departure date was June 6, 2022, and both successive champions had won six in a row.
Eric Ahasic[]
- Beat a Ultrachamp (Matt Amodio) and succeeded in winning 5 or more in a row. Jonathan won 11 games, and he has won six.
- They lost to the same opponent (Andrew He) in the ToC. The difference is, unlike himself, who was completely defeated, Jonathan lost by $2.
- The ultrachampions they beat were defeated by 4-time champs.
- Both made their debut on Monday and got off on Tuesday, handing the championship to the woman champion.
Evaluation[]
Like Emma Boettcher who beat James Holzhauer, he was a champion who performed very well. He beat Superchampion and became a Superchampion himself. In the meantime, Giant killers have not been able to win streaks except for Emma, who has set a record of 11 consecutive wins, not enough to beat Matt Amodio, who is a strong player. There have been several champions who have won 5 or more, beating champions who are going to win 6 or more, but this is the first time that both have won 10 or more.
Because of that, some netizens had expectations that a rematch between Matt Amodio would take place, like the match between James and Emma held at 2019 ToC, but in reality, he lost to Andrew He, and even Matt Amodio lost to Sam Buttrey, so it didn't happen. In reality, a rematch was made between Andrew He and Amy Schneider. Still, given his achievements, there's a chance he'll appear again in a future tournament sooner or later, and possibly a rematch with Matt Amodio.
Trivia[]
- He's associated with 11, which was on October 11, 2021, and is his 11th 10+ champ and 11th champ. Also, the day he lost in the ToC was November 1, 2022.
- Like Ken Jennings, the 10+ champion dropped off on Tuesday. Coincidentally, the title was handed over to a female contender named Nancy Zerg, who was named first.
- Many people were looking forward to the S36 ToC fight between James Holzhauer and Emma Boettcher as he once defeated Matt Amodio and joined the ranks of long-term champions, but in less than a month Amy Schneider broke Matt's winning streak and went on to win 40 in a row, the longest streak. After taking second place, Mattea Roach won 23 straight and Ryan Long got 16 straight wins, so there's a feeling of being relatively buried now. Of course, there are a lot of variations in ToC, so we don't know what kind of variable there will be.
- On June 10, 2022, Eric Ahasic, who defeated Ryan Long, won five consecutive victories, becoming the second longest-running champion after him to become the odd champion with five consecutive victories.
- With Jessica Stephens, the winner of SCT Week 1, joining the ToC, there could be a rematch between the last opponents. However, it was canceled because he lost to Andrew He before that and was eliminated from the preliminary round.
- There was a jinx that the super champions who got off starting with themselves got off on the day ending with 6 based on the broadcast date (Jonathan: 10/26/21, Amy Schneider: 1/26/22, Mattea Roach: 5/6/22, Ryan Long: 6/6/22, Cris Pannullo: 12/6/22).
