Preparations[]

She still occasionally got recognized at the library, the bookstore, and the grocery store. I think it helps with job-hunting - having Jeopardy on my resume sets it apart and recruiters always want to talk about it. Also, I'm the only mom on my block who's been on Biography.

Tournament of Champions[]

In the fourth quarterfinal game, she faced off against Lee Lassiter and Michael Rooney. Throughout the first two rounds, she came up with 19/23 correct responses (including 0/1 Daily Double). She and Lee got Final incorrect, but after losing to Michael (in a runaway game), she received a wildcard as her $4,800 was enough to advance, while Lee's $0 ($900) was not enough, taking home $2,500.

In the first semifinal game, she faced off against Terry Currin and Mike Blumenfeld. Throughout the first two rounds, she came up with 29/35 correct responses (including 1/2 Daily Doubles). She and Terry got Final correct. Robin's runaway advanced her to the finals. Terry and Mike received $5,000.

In the finals, she faced off against Jeremy Bate and Steve Fried. Throughout the finals, she came up with 39/46 correct responses (including 4/5 Daily Doubles). She Steve got 0/2 Final Jeopardy correct. Robin's runaway made her the $100,000 champion.

International Championship[]

In the second semifinal game, she faced off against Firat Isbecer and Ott Sandrak. Throughout the first two rounds, she came up with 38/41 correct responses (including 3/3 Daily Doubles). She was the only player correct in Final and advanced to the finals. Firat and Ott received $5,000.

In the finals, she faced off against Carsten Wiedemann and Fredrik Gildea. Throughout the finals, she came up with a combined 58/68 correct responses (including 4/5 Daily Doubles). She was the only player who got 1/2 Final Jeopardy correct and won $50,000.

Million Dollar Masters[]

In the fifth quarterfinal game, she faced off against India Cooper and Babu Srinivasan. Throughout the first two rounds, she came up with 13/19 correct responses (including 1/1 Daily Double). She and India got Final incorrect, but after losing to India (in a runaway game), she and Babu received $10,000 as their $5,600 and $12,000 were not enough to advance.

Ultimate Tournament of Champions[]

She was one of nine players to receive a bye into Round 2.

In the ninth game of round two, she faced off against Matthew Zielenski and Steve Newman. Throughout the first two rounds, she came up with 14/16 correct responses (including 1/2 Daily Doubles). She and Matthew got Final correct, but after losing to Matthew (in a come from behind win), she and Steve received $5,000.

Battle of the Decades[]

In the third game of the 1990s, she faced off against Bob Harris and Shane Whitlock. Throughout the first two rounds, she came up with 14/20 correct responses (including 1/1 Daily Double). She was the only player correct in Final, and after a come from behind win, she advanced to the quarterfinals. Bob and Shane received $5,000.

In the first quarterfinal game, she faced off against Leszek Pawlowicz and Roger Craig. Throughout the first two rounds, she came up with 11/12 correct responses. She and Leszek got Final incorrect, but after losing to Roger, she received $10,000 as her $0 ($5,200) was not enough to advance, while Leszek's $15,000 was enough to advance.

Invitational Tournament[]

In the seventh quarterfinal game, she faced off against Ray Lalonde and Ryan Long. Throughout the first two rounds, she came up with 18/21 correct responses (including 1/1 Daily Double). Nobody got Final correct, but after losing to Ray, she and Ryan received $5,000.

Aftermath[]

  • When she won the ToC held two months later, she became the first 5-time female champ and the second woman ever to win the ToC after Rachael Schwartz.
  • Won the 2001 Jeopardy! International Championship.
  • After that, she appeared in Million Dollar Master, UToC, BToD, and J!IT.

  • She was a research assistant when she won the Tournament of Champions in 2000.
  • According to the official Jeopardy! web site, she is from Marietta, Georgia.
  • Her husband, Dan Carroll, has appeared on S27.
  • The ToC in which she appeared was the last ToC in which all finalists advanced to the semifinals with WC.
  • This is the first time that a participant in that season has won the ToC in the same season.
  • The fourth player to win all games from the first game by lock game. The first Elise Beraru (1984), the second Chuck Forrest (1985), and the third Jonathan Groff (1995). However, Chuck, the last one is a lock-tie, Jonathan is not accurate due to lack of old data, and he has mentioned it in UToC, and then Rick Knutsen (2001). After that, Anne Boyd (x4), Jason Richards (4x), Steve Unite (5x), Matt Jackson (13x), Kevin Walsh (5x), Cris Pannullo (21x), and Troy Meyer (6x) come close and Ben Chan (2023) set the record.
  • She was the first multi-crown champion, later set by Brad Rutter and James Holzhauer.
  • With her win in the 2001 International Tournament, she eclipsed 1990 ToC winner Bob Blake as the show's biggest overall winner (not counting Super Jeopardy!).
