Tournament of Champions[]

In the fifth quarterfinal game, he faced off against Steven Grade and Francois Barcomb. Throughout the first two rounds, he came up with 14/20 correct responses (including 0/1 Daily Double). Everyone got Final correct, but after losing to Francois (in a runaway game), he received $5,000 as his $8,000 was not enough to advance as wildcard, while Steven's $18,400 was enough to advance.

Bob Mesko[]

  • Both of them re-appeared due to problem errors and took 3rd place then. Bob's 4th win in a row, Ryan's 5th win in a row.
  • Each of the new champions who won in the reappearance won three games in a row, and in Bob's case, his successor also advanced to the ToC (Doug Dorst).
  • The two ToC finalists that they appeared in competed in the Regular game.

Stephanie Jass[]

  • Both are 7-game winning streak champions.
  • Both lost to the winner of the Teacher Tournament at ToC. Stephanie in the Semifinals and Ryan in the Quarterfinals. Additionally, both participants who beat them advanced to the finals, with the former winning and the latter taking third place.
  • The finalists of the ToC in which I appeared competed again with the opponents I competed with in the Regular game, and the ToC finalist that Stephanie appeared in competed again with two opponents in the same ToC.

Brian Chang[]

  • Both are 7-game winning streak champions.
  • In the middle of the streak, They competed against a champion who had 3 or more wins in a row. When Brian got off, Ryan tried again after winning 5 consecutive wins.

Kyle Jones[]

  • Both are seven-game champions and were dropped by lock games on Friday. The difference is that it was Ryan's first Appearance.
  • Neither of them advanced on their own, with Kyle advancing to the WC.

Zach Newkirk[]

  • Both of them stopped appearing after 4 consecutive wins, but then appeared again. After losing, Ryan was given a chance to try again due to an error in question writing, and Zach, as mentioned above, was delayed due to travel restrictions in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Both had beaten champions with three or more wins in a row when they reappeared.
  • Both competed in the ToC last group of Quarterfinals, where they were crushed by the winners of other tournaments (Francois Barcomb). Both winners also finished third.
  • Both have come from behind wins in their regular runs. The difference was Ryan had three and Zach had one.
  • The ToC winner has the most prize money and the most consecutive victories among male and female ToC winners, and the participants who met in the ToC finals competed in the Regular Game (Zach - Amy Schneider and Andrew He / Ryan - James Holzhauer and Emma Boettcher).

Hannah Wilson[]

  • Both have faced three-game winning streak champions in the middle of their streak. Ryan faced off when he tried again for his 5th consecutive win, and Hannah when she tried for her first and 9th consecutive win. The difference is that Ryan won.

Trivia[]

  • This is the best result among the contestants who re-challenged after losing so far (excluded SC or CWC winner).
  • In his 3rd game, he won with 10 or more incorrect answers, the first time since Grayson Holmes (December 17, 2004).
  • In the 4-game winning streak challenge, Alex was embarrassed because no one could guess the 'Talkin' Football' category. This scene is documented on our YouTube channel.
